This will have been a post no one will have read

This will have been an account of something that will have never happened, yet you will have been here for it anyway. By the time you will have reached this first sentence, you will have already decided it will have been a mistake to begin. You will have told yourself you were only curious [not committed] and you will have been planning your exit before your eyes will have touched the third line.

You will have read more slowly than you will have expected, because you will have been searching for the reason this exists at all. You will have guessed it will have been a joke, or an experiment, or a test.... and you will have been both right and wrong, as you will have been with most things. Around you, the air will have seemed to still, as if the page itself will have been waiting to see what you will have done next.

By the middle of this paragraph, you will have thought about stopping. You will have flicked your eyes ahead to see how much will have remained, and you will have calculated whether the rest will have been worth your time. You will have decided no........... and yet, you will have continued anyway, just to prove you can.

A small thought will have crossed your mind..... the kind that will have stuck without your consent. You will have expected a turn, a revelation, a hidden sentence that will have justified the title. Instead, you will have been given only the recognition that this moment ..... right now..... will have been exactly what the post was about: you, searching, while already knowing you will have found nothing.

By the time you will have reached the end, you will have realized the ending will have already happened at the start. The act of not reading will have been completed even as you will have read. And when you will have left this page, it will have been with the same certainty you will have carried when you first arrived: that you will have never truly read this at all.

This will have been the most time you will have ever spent not reading something.
